Planning with Purpose: Trusting God’s Timing in Every Season

Trust is the beginning of all purposeful planning. It’s easy to feel in control when we are the primary plan maker, but God reminds us that there is an appointed time for every season. Planning with faith means making sure your goals are aligned with His guidance, not racing ahead of it. Here are three key ways to invite God into your planning process and plan with divinely appointed purpose.

How to plan with Purpose:

1. Surrender Control but Keep the Vision

Holding your plans loosely creates such a beautiful thing. Write down your goals, but be open to adjustments prompted by the Holy Spirit. Surrender doesn’t mean weakness, but is an act of wisdom. By trusting Jesus with the “how” and “when”, there is room left for the divine timing of God. “To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.” - Ecclesiastes 3:1. Let this scripture take root in your heart as you bask in the perfect timing of God.

2. Plan around Values, Not Pressure

Asking important questions like, “Does this align with what I value most”, is essential to planning a value-filled week. Purposeful planning isn’t about having every hour filled, but focusing on priorities that nurture not only your spirit, but your relationships and your growth.

3. Look for God in the Delays

Sometimes our plans don’t move as quickly as we’d like them too. While annoying, delays can often prepare us for what’s to come ahead. Trade your frustration with patience and use this time to refine your purpose and strengthen your faith.

What are of your life are you trying to rush? Write a prayer to anchor your spirit in truth this week, inviting God to work in His perfect timing.
